Protecting your private information is our priority. This Statement of Privacy applies to The Trauma Recovery Education Centre and explains what personal information we collect, what we do with it, what we don’t do with it, and how we keep it safe — and how you can manage your consent or restrict data collection and processing. I, Rachel Fairhurst, Director and Practice Lead of Trauma Recovery Centre Ltd, am committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to “site” or “sites” include (The Trauma Recovery Education Centre). These sites are information and reference sites or marketing applications, used for the purpose of generating leads for our business and potentially the businesses of our clients. By using our sites, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

When may you collect data from me?


We may collect personal data about you if you:

  • Fill in a form or survey for me;

  • Information you provide when you enquire or become a client including name, address, contact details, GP (including email address and phone numbers).

  • Details of referrals, quotes and other contacts and correspondence I may have had with you or about you.

  • Details of services and/or treatment you have received from me or which have been received from a third party and referred on to me.

  • Notes and reports about your health and any treatment and care you have received and/or need.

  • Information about feedback, complaints and incidents.

  • Information you give me when you make a payment, such as financial or medical insurance details.

  • Other information received from other sources, such as information provided by other companies who have obtained your permission to share information about you

We only collect the minimum amount of data necessary to deliver an optimal experience to you. Your data comes from a variety of sources, including visitation behaviour on our sites; engagement with us via phone, email, text, or Facebook Messenger ("Messenger"); preferences stored in browser cookies; advertisement engagement; and form data such as name, email address, mailing address, and preferences from forms on our sites or via our advertisements.

Sensitive data:


This includes information that I request from you relating to mental or physical health or racial or ethnic origin including children’s data (if applicable). Our lawful basis for collecting this information is ‘legitimate interest’ and ‘provision of health treatment’. We will only use this information in relation to the delivery of a contract to you as a health care professional. By providing us with sensitive personal data, you give us your explicit consent to process this sensitive personal data for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain personal information to us when you elect to use certain products or services available on our sites.


Use of your Personal Information


Your personal information may be used to:

  • Verify your identity;

  • Provide the services you require;

  • Administer and manage those services, including charging, billing and collecting debts.

Keeping records which may include sensitive data is an essential component of healthcare, which helps in understanding how best to help with psychological therapy and forms the basis of any letters/reports needed. I will not use your information for marketing purposes.

We collect and use your personal information to operate our sites and deliver the services you have requested. We may also use your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from us and our affiliates. We will not use your information for marketing purposes


Sharing Information with Third Parties


We do not sell, rent, or lease customer information to third parties. Your information will be kept confidential unless you give me permission to share it. However, it is important to know that there are several circumstances when I have a duty to share your personal data.


We may disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to;

  • Conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on us or our sites to protect and defend our rights or property and/or act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of our sites, or the public.

  • If we are asked to disclose your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation.

  • If you are planning to use your health insurance to cover the costs of sessions, insurers or case managers may request information with regards to these. This is generally a summary of our work together and progress; confidential information will not be shared unnecessarily.

  • When there are significant concerns for your safety or that of another person.

As part of my (Rachel Fairhurst) professional guidelines, I undertake regular (monthly) supervision of my cases. I will therefore share some of your information with my supervisor(s) in order that you receive high quality care. I use initials only and will not share identifying details with my supervisor.
